Fire Triangle or Combustion Triangle:
Fire triangle is such a representation by which we can easily understand the necessary elements for fires. It’s also called combustion triangle. Fire triangle demonstrates three elements for any fire-
- Heat
- Fuel
- Oxidizing agent (usually oxygen)
The fire can be prohibited by removing any one of the elements in the fire triangle. The combination of these three elements in the right ratio occurs to a fire.
Fire Tetrahedron:
The fire tetrahedron is nothing but an extra addition to fire triangle. When a fire starts, then it’s responsible for more fire that means more fires will start from the source fire. And it will occur by the chemical chain reaction unless one of the elements is removed from the firing area.
Types of Fire:
There are mainly six types of fire:
- A Type Fire: This type of fire involves organic solids such as paper, wood, cloth etc.
- B Type Fire: This type of fire involves flammable liquids such as petrol, kerosene, gasoline, propane, grease oil etc.
- C Type Fire: This type of fire involves combustible gases such as Methane, CNG, LPG etc.
- D Type fire: This type of fire involves combustible metals such as Iron, Sodium, Magnesium, Aluminum, Titanium etc.
- E Type fire: Electrical issues are responsible for this type of fire.
- F Type fire: This type of fire involves fat & oil from animals or vegetables
Fire Extinguisher:
Fire extinguisher is a fire protective equipment that is used for controlling small fire. It’s not ideal for an out-of-control fire.
Types of Fire Extinguisher:
There are mainly two types of fire extinguisher-
- ABC Type dry powder (Monoammonium Phosphate): It’s ideal for ABC & E type of fire
- CO2Fire Extinguisher: It’s ideal for B & C type of fire
Water Fire Extinguisher:
It’s another kind of fire extinguisher. It’s ideal for A type of fire such as wood, paper, cloth etc.
